The History of Taiwanese Community Church:
The history of the Taiwanese Community Church started in the early 1980s. It was a part of a 1982 plan of the Des Plaines Taiwan Presbyterian Church to establish a mission in the Southwestern Suburb. The church was established after our first minister, Rev. Joshua Yapp, was ordained in the Reformed Church of America. The original name in 1983 was the Taiwan Reformed Church in the Greater Chicago Area. In 1985, the church officially joined the RCA and the name was changed to Taiwanese Community Church.
